The lake view is amazing, and there’s a well-kept outdoor area to hang out in. Getting that view means climbing the hill whenever you come back to the apartment, but it’s manageable. The castle, monastery and theatre are a short walk away. I stayed in June, and the host was super lovely. They also offer airport pickup for less than the taxi drivers.

The hosts were so warm and welcoming, and they spoke Polish well. They also served delicious homemade breakfasts. The apartment was clean and had the basics we needed, though there wasn't a wardrobe, just hangers. It's high up in the old town, so driving there takes some effort and imagination 😉, but it can be done. From the terrace, the view over Lake Ohrid is priceless, with many of Ohrid's sights visible too.
