We had a good stay overall and would definitely come back. The location, weather, and view were perfect, and the restaurant staff were very kind. Breakfast was great, with something different each day, and room service was excellent. Lunch was only average, though, and reception was okay. We stayed three nights in April with our small child. The room was clean, and the bed was acceptable but not very comfortable. There’s private parking at the hotel. We were told the spa was open from 9am to 9pm, but when we went to use the sauna, it wasn’t working. The receptionist said we needed to book an appointment first. The jacuzzi was out of order too, and we were told we could use one at another hotel 5km away.

The staff were friendly, professional, and always willing to help. Breakfast had plenty of tasty fresh and local options, and the rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. I found the location convenient, near the lake and within easy reach of the city center, so it worked well for sightseeing as well as relaxing. The spa was a lovely place to unwind after a long day, with a calm feel and well-kept facilities. Hotel Tino & Spa offers good value and a high standard of hospitality. I’d happily stay again and recommend it to people visiting Ohrid.

We stopped in just for lunch and tried some traditional dishes. The food tasted good, the price was very reasonable, and the portions were generous enough for everyone. They also had live music that day.

The cleaning ladies were the only staff who were especially friendly and nice. When I checked out, they tried to add another 500mkd, saying I had bought food during my stay. I hadn’t. As soon as I said so, they just said “oh okay” and didn’t check whether there had been a mistake. It felt like they were seeing whether they could get away with it. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. The price doesn’t match what they offer, and it needs investment to keep up with newer standards. The hotel’s location is the one good thing. It’s within walking distance of the port and shopping street, but every room is above a pub or bar with live performances every night after midnight. I stayed for two nights and wished I’d had another hotel to move to. The rooms are very dated and not worth the price, and the internet was neither stable nor secure. The first room I was offered had no terrace, just two windows facing a wall. It was extremely dark and claustrophobic. After I discussed it with reception, they offered a slightly better room with a terrace, but that also looked directly at a wall. I had to take it because there was no other option. Breakfast was included, but it was quite basic, with few choices for vegetarians and vegans. There was no plant-based milk, only cow’s milk. The restaurant where breakfast was served was old and smelled of cigarettes and old wood, from the furniture to the interior. The coffee machine looked very old, probably from the 20th century, and the coffee was disgusting. The only juice was orange juice from an extremely old machine, and it tasted chemical. Food was limited and sometimes there wasn’t enough for everyone. It was left uncovered, including the bread, so flies were all over it. When I complained about the first room, one receptionist was arrogant and disrespectful.

The lake view impressed me most, and the hotel is close to the center and city activities. Service was excellent from everyone, including reception, the maids, and restaurant waiters. I highly recommend Tino!
