Villa Mimi

The pool was clean, with a fountain and bubbles, and long enough for a proper swim. Breakfast comes with the stay and has a good range of international options, often with something local as well. This is a tiny guesthouse, maybe six or seven rooms, and it was spotless. The rooms also seemed to have been renovated recently. Madam Mimosa and her husband Nicolai are genuinely warm hosts and run the place very well. There's a supermarket across the road, the lake is 400 meters away, and a mountain walk starts about five minutes on foot.

The pool feels like a little spa, and there’s plenty to see and do around here. Pestani is close to Lake of Ohrid and the national naturalpark Galicica, but the village itself is quiet and cozy. Mimi and Nicolai are a lovely couple who make sure the rooms are cleaned every day. Breakfast is generous, and you can take your time eating in the sunshine. It made for a peaceful, simple holiday. Five stars don’t seem enough. We’d come back for sure, if there weren’t so much more of the world to see.

Mimi is so sweet and does everything she can to make you feel comfortable. The room was cleaned daily, and breakfast was served generously. Cozy place, friendly atmosphere.

We booked one room a month ahead for August 8. Then, just two days before, they called and said they couldn't give us the room, saying they had some kind of problem. Totally rude and unprofessional.
