Hotel Izgrev Spa & Aqua Park

The indoor and outdoor pools were extremely cold, which made it hard to enjoy swimming even briefly. Food choices were limited, though the meals were acceptable. The hotel doesn’t allow outside food or water. Going out from the resort at night felt unsafe to me because it’s right by the border with Albania. Halal food was readily available.

The lift situation alone was madness. The whole complex had just ONE elevator, marked for a maximum of two people, and our turn took about 40 minutes. We paid €168 for a couple for three nights, including breakfast, and it felt like a joke. For these conditions, even €50 a night for a couple would be a rip-off. Cleanliness was basically nonexistent, customer service was pathetic, and reception might as well not have been there. The Google photos are completely misleading, it looks NOTHING like them once you arrive. I’ve never had a worse stay anywhere. I strongly do NOT recommend it. Save your time, money, and nerves.

The buffet, the so-called Swedish table, had lots of tasty choices. The spa was available anytime, and the indoor and outdoor pools were clean. I’d highly recommend it, best of the best, No 1. Only real downside was the wasps. It was also missing cycles, electric scooters, and a trail line for them.

The food and views were fantastic, and the staff were really friendly when I visited in summer. I also liked that the rooms were spread across different locations. The waterpark was great, though the paths need better drainage and the stairs to the rides should be cleaned regularly. The green stairs leading to the five connected slides could use renovation and guard rails. Apart from that, it was great, that’s all from me for now.
