I didn’t try the food, but as a place to stay in this part of the region, it feels like a dependable, safe choice. The hotel has some local charm, and given the location, it’s probably the best accommodation around. Just keep expectations in check: it doesn’t match European standards. If you’re fine with cleanliness by local standards and the occasional gecko on the wall, you’ll likely be happy here.

I was traveling with a large group, though I had a room to myself. One night a man opened my door with a keycard, came in, and stood at the foot of my bed staring at me for several minutes. I pretended to be asleep and tried to keep my breathing calm until he finally left. It was one of the most frightening things I’ve experienced in years of traveling. I’ve added pictures to show that I stayed there. Google asked me to review the hotel, so I did. The hotel says it has no record of me staying, but somehow also seems to know when I was there.

The pool makes a stay here more enjoyable, and the breakfast catering is good. It’s a genuinely nice, safe place to stay in Bamako, with friendly staff. The gym is only so-so and could use more equipment.
