There are noodle shops nearby, and the Wi-Fi works well. The room was clean, though the lighting wasn't enough for reading. The hotel is medium-sized, with a good, spacious car park, and the receptionists were helpful. There isn't breakfast, and it could use some bins outside. They take a 10,000 MMK deposit for the room key, which you get back at checkout.

The logo looks copied from Nescafé, which made me smile and like Myanmar even more. The Nich was a great stay, with a high standard for a normal price. The receptionists know enough English to get by. Thanks!

The noodles shop in front of the hotel serves si chat that's out of this world, so make sure to try it. The location suited me, quite close to the border, and the price is reasonable. The room was okay, but the service could be better.

On my second trip to Tachileik, I chose The Nich again. I'm not especially picky, but I can say it's a great hotel. Compared with hotel prices in other parts of Myanmar, the charge is fair and feels worth paying.

The location is handy, right by the market and Thai border crossing, and the Wi-Fi is fast and free. Rooms are clean, service is good, and reception speaks English and Thai. The cheapest room is 400 Baht, with a squat toilet and two fans. Clean drinking water is available free.
