20th Street Hostel

At 8$, the air-conditioned dorm is good value. It has bunk beds with curtains for privacy, and you can ask for a key to one of the small lockers. The bathrooms are clean, with hot water and Western-style toilets. Breakfast is basic, but tea and coffee are available 24 hours a day. The staff are nice and helpful. It’s a good spot for food lovers, with 19th street as a street food hub, and for meeting other travellers.

The only thing I liked was the basic breakfast, which had some local food. The aircon says 16C but the room still feels warm, and the wifi and TV don’t work. The ceiling is too low, shower pressure is weak, and the toilet needs cleaning more often. It’s overpriced, with mosquitoes everywhere. Even the lobby leaks water and doesn’t have enough seats for everyone. I also overheard other guests complaining about bedbugs.

The rooms are okay, the air con works, and the bathrooms are clean, though the water pressure is a bit low. Staff are very helpful, and during the day some speak good English. Breakfast is just average, with toast and a few local dishes.

The double bed with a window was comfortable, and the shared bathroom had hot water. The internet was fairly stable, and the place was cleaned daily. Breakfast is very basic, but there’s a good local cafe nearby. The manager is wonderful and extremely helpful, and the staff are nice too.
