YOHO Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel

The gym was the one positive: it had plenty of equipment, though some bars were sticky and showed sweat marks. The room itself was dusty, and there was even a used toothpick on the bedside counter. Staff seemed poorly trained. The doorman didn't open the door or greet us, and when a cleaner mopped the floor, there was no wet-floor sign. That's dangerous and slippery. The location is inconvenient too, unless you're prepared for a 30-minute walk between hotels in Macau's sun and humidity. For the same price as competitors, I couldn't see any value here. I wouldn't recommend it, and I won't come back. Is this really five-star service?

A luxurious stay, with an impressive room, amenities, and atmosphere. It's a little out of the way, but I could easily take the shuttle to the main casino hotels for some sightseeing, then catch it again to the airport.

The room and the view were nice, which were about the only good things I can say. We stayed three nights with our family and two young kids. At check-in, staff couldn't find our booking and seemed very disorganized. We were put off the complimentary bus to the ferry and had to arrange and pay for a taxi ourselves. Staff said it wasn't their problem. The location is very inconvenient, and getting around on foot is difficult. We were unable to get a taxi at this location twice, so we had to walk. There are plenty of better places to stay in Macau.

The hotel still feels new and has nice views, but the location isn't convenient. I booked a king suite and got a room with a balcony instead. The pictures didn't match what I got, which was disappointing. The chic design made the room awkward and frustrating to use. The bed sat in the middle, there was no shower stall, and I had to stand in the tub holding the shower head in one hand. The light switches, blinds, room layout, and door locks all added to the hassle.
