The food takes too long to come out, and the cooking isn't good. The restaurant also runs out of some items. When you ask about a problem, they make you feel like a nuisance. At reception, the woman was rude, arrogant, and lazy, and I kept having to get my room key reset.

Somewhere in the middle, really. It isn't bad, but it isn't especially good either.

The place is nice and quiet, but the breakfast could use work. I was especially concerned about the shuttle driver: he chats with a colleague while driving, or seems to sleep when he's alone. That feels particularly worrying on an early morning airport drop-off when you have a flight.

The rooms have always been clean, and the staff are friendly and willing to help. Breakfast has plenty of bread, and the kitchen is tidy. I can also exchange dollars for local currency or pay with Master card or Visa. I've stayed twice, and the internet has improved since 2017.

The pool water is clean, and the loungers are in good shape. The gym, though, is just a space they call a gym, so don't count on using one. For meals, the menu is so-so: salads disappoint, while fried items like burgers are decent. Wi-Fi is unreliable, though communications generally seem unstable in Mauritania. I hear Monotel is a better choice. I've been here a month and still have to stay longer, so I've had plenty of time to sample the service. Keep your expectations low. Housekeeping often comes at roughly the same time each day without knocking, and they seem unable to read English or French, including the “do not disturb” signs. They also leave furniture on top of things like phone charger cords, every single day. Breakfast repeats the same food, which I can understand for guests who aren't staying a whole month. What bothered me was that staff sometimes decide low occupancy means they don't need to heat the serving trays. The food can sit at room temperature for who knows how long before it's served.
