Water's Edge

I ordered Chinese food from this place on Bolt Food a few days ago and was pleasantly surprised. It doesn’t pretend to be fine dining, but it was better than the mediocre Chinese takeaway I’ve often found around Malta. The beef was fresh, tender, and juicy, with a light smoky taste that reminded me a little of wood-fired grilling. It was well seasoned and had plenty of flavour. The noodles were nicely cooked, not soggy, with generous stir-fried vegetables that still tasted fresh. The noodles, veg, and sauces worked together really well. Lemon chicken can easily go wrong, but this was handled well. The fried chicken pieces were crisp and had a good texture. The lemon sauce was a little runnier than I’d prefer, though pleasantly sweet. Fresh lemon slices and sesame seeds brightened it up and added a nice aroma. It was better than I expected. The cooking is well judged and does what it sets out to do. I’d order from here again without hesitation.
