BOCO Boutique

We loved Malta and the BOCO, and are already planning to come back. The hotel would be our first choice next time. Its location was just right, with wonderful views and a peaceful feel, apart from election time 😊. Breakfast was great every morning, and the staff were lovely and helpful. Tony also took time to explain the city’s layout and history and shared some really useful tips.

Tony was such a welcoming host and had plenty of suggestions for places to see and things to do. He did everything he could to make our stay pleasant. I’d happily return and would recommend the hotel to future visitors. The rooms each had their own eclectic design and were clean and spacious, with roomy, spotless en suite bathrooms. We especially enjoyed breakfast or a drink on the rooftop terrace, with its lovely view across the bay to Valetta. It’s a charming little boutique hotel in the old Three Cities area, across the water from Valetta.

Tony knows Malta inside out and was very friendly. Shanaia and Iolanda were just as helpful and welcoming. While we were there, Tony put on a lovely rooftop barbecue and wine evening, with a great view of the international fireworks across the harbour. The hotel is in a quiet part of Cospicua, an easy walk from the harbour. The rooftop honesty bar is well set up and has lots to choose from, and the views across the harbour towards Valletta are spectacular.

Tony was a memorable host. He remembered my name and made me feel welcome, and the view from the third-floor honesty bar is well worth seeing. The neighbourhood is peaceful, with sea views and a promenade for walks or runs, plus places to stop for coffee. Although Valletta seems far away at first, Boco Boutique Hotel worked really well as a base for exploring Malta. The ferry takes about 15 minutes and runs every 30 minutes, costs around €2.50 with the Upper Barrakka lift included, or you can take a traditional water taxi for €3, a bus or Bolt. There’s also a direct connection from the same spot to the Gozo ferry for day trips. The hotel feels calm and tucked away from the main tourist crowds, and is beautifully Instagrammable. An easy 10/10, highly recommend.
