Grands Suites Hotel Residences & SPA

For a couple, the studio suite was comfortable and surprisingly spacious. We stayed a week and had expected a much smaller room. The amenities helped make the stay enjoyable, though the breakfast deal felt overpriced. I wish there were a more reasonable package for the whole stay. We only found out later that direct bookings through the hotel website include breakfast for free. There are good cafes and restaurants nearby, and the ferry to Valletta is just a short walk. Being in central Gzira means some traffic noise, but nights were pretty calm. We were also surprised to find street parking near the hotel every day during our February visit.

The dryer left stains on my clothes and didn’t dry them properly, so I had to throw away half of my belongings. I ended up travelling with wet things. I tried leaving them in the sun and asked reception for a late checkout so I could deal with the problem, but they refused and offered no alternative. I’m extremely disappointed. The hotel took no responsibility for the damage, and the service was very poor. Even with the pool, spa, and other amenities, I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

We had a peaceful stay in a spacious room with a separate bedroom, and couldn’t hear noise from the hallway. Breakfast had lots of food and drinks to choose from and was excellent. From the 11th floor, the harbor and port view was so calm, especially while eating breakfast. The location was convenient, and the staff were very friendly and responsive. We definitely recommend the hotel.

I complained to the property and spoke with the manager, but they said they couldn’t do anything. There was no compensation, even though we couldn’t sleep at all. The pipe above our room ran loudly all night: water flowing, toilets flushing, showers, and other rustling sounds, with not even five quiet minutes. The air circulation was bad and the room felt suffocating. The railing looked unfinished, with cables everywhere. This didn’t feel like a standard room at a four-star hotel. Honestly, the airport would have been quieter at night. Fix the pipes and thin walls. We chose this place for the sauna and pool, but the area was so overcrowded that we didn’t use either. Other people in our group also cancelled after seeing how full it was. For girls: there was no hair conditioner, just one soap for everything, and no body lotion or sanitary bag. A bathrobe required an extra €20 cash deposit for each one. One female staff member was rude and judged us for not having €40 in cash at the time, even though we had already paid another €100 deposit. They wouldn’t take a card. It’s 2026, how can a four-star hotel not accept cards? The hotel is a trap, never again. We couldn’t sleep, the staff didn’t care, and they refused our request for a full or partial refund. It’s not worth staying here. We’d have been better off at a real four-star place like AX ODYCY hotel or Seaview Hote.
