Le Margherite Guest House

We stayed two nights and had nothing bad to say. The room was clean, the beds comfortable, and the area quiet. Free parking and good value for money, too.

The bus service was okay, with a few routes into town and around the area. Our room was clean and well kept, very large, and had its own bathroom. The small balcony view over the city and Marina Kalkara more than made up for the tiny TV. There’s also a shared kitchen with a fridge and dining area, plus a roof terrace with an unforgettable evening view of the lit-up churches and houses. Self check-in was really easy and convenient. We came for two nights without high expectations and liked the room. By German standards, though, the place could be improved quite a lot.

The main issues were thin walls and doors, so I could hear the entrance door opening and closing all night. The shower curtain was in poor shape, and the small floor barrier did little to keep water out of the bathroom. Otherwise the room was clean, tidy, and nice-looking, with great air conditioning and plenty of space. Arriving very late, or early in the morning, was easy.

The rooms are good, reasonably equipped, and well located, but don't expect peace and quiet. Other guests and service staff were up at 7am, talking loudly and taking phone calls right outside the door. In bed, the AC either blows straight at your face or has to be switched off.
