South Wind Guesthouse is in a quieter spot in the heart of Marsaxlokk, just steps from cafes, the seafront, and the famous Sunday market. It makes for an intimate village stay near the traditional fishing harbor, with St. Peter's Pool, Il-Ballut Reserve Beach, and Valletta Waterfront nearby. A great base for seeing Malta's culture and markets. The place has a warm, family-run feel, and the staff are friendly, multilingual, and helpful. Rooms are furnished, air-conditioned, and have private bathrooms, TVs, Wi-Fi, mini-fridges, and kettles. Some have balconies or terraces with sea views, and accessible rooms are available. There’s also a terrace with seating, laundry, tour assistance, and shuttle service for an extra charge. Breakfast is a high-quality continental buffet with plenty of choice, including fresh pastries and fruit. Cash may be required for accommodation or amenities.

We spent nine days here and enjoyed having the terrace for breakfast. Late check-in was easy, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Public buses and hop-on hop-off stops are less than 100 metres away, and restaurants along the harbour front are an easy, relaxing stroll.

Breakfast was included and delicious, and the guesthouse is easy to find, well placed in town, with plenty of on-street parking nearby. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. We had a great time and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting.

We came back and had another great stay. This time our room had a lovely balcony, and it was clean, nice, and very spacious. We arrived late, but the instructions for getting into the room were easy to follow.

Breakfast on the terrace comes with a view over Marsashlox harbour. The small hotel is only about 50 metres from harbour street, yet it’s on a quiet street. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Highly recommended!
