Soreda Hotel

The food was tasty and varied, and most of the staff were friendly, helpful and professional. Those were the real bright spots in an otherwise very disappointing stay. Our expectation was a family holiday with activities for children, based on what the hotel advertises, but there wasn’t a single kids’ activity or event while we were there. There were no social evenings or engaging entertainment for adults either. On the rare occasions something was arranged, it seemed aimed at an older crowd, with music and performances more suited to retirees. Private celebrations were held at the hotel so often that halls and shared areas were regularly closed to guests. It made getting around and enjoying the facilities difficult, and the event guests were spread throughout the hotel, affecting the comfort and atmosphere for holidaymakers. Around 90% of the guests were retirees, and the place felt geared toward elderly clientele. I wouldn’t recommend it to families with children or younger people hoping for an active, lively break. The advertised experience simply wasn’t there, and the staff’s efforts and the good food couldn’t make up for that.

We couldn’t be happier with our choice of venue for our wedding. The Soreda team supported us throughout, and our guests had a wonderful time in the gorgeous space. The service was excellent, and everything on the day ran to schedule. The staff’s attention to detail and flexibility really stood out. They anticipated what we needed and handled last-minute changes with ease. Thank you, Soreda team, from the bottom of our hearts.

We found the rooftop pool very quiet during our week, and the roof bar was rarely open. It was meant to depend on the weather, which I understand, though it seemed more like there weren’t enough customers. Malta was surprisingly busy for mid October, with building work going on everywhere. The food was pretty good, and we were half board +, including drinks. Staff were friendly and helpful, and our room was spotlessly clean with a nice balcony. The reception was being revamped, a job that seemed to have been underway for a while. Large tour groups in the dining room may be an issue for some, but didn’t bother us. Walking around wasn’t easy, as most pavements were in disrepair. I’d give the hotel three stars.

The staff are pleasant and helpful, and the underground pool is really nice. Rooms are clean and adequate, though they could do with modernising and redecorating. The food ranges from adequate to very nice, and the breakfast cafe bar is lovely, especially for pizza. But if peace and quiet matters to you, this place is definitely not for you. Since Friday there have been seven or eight children's birthday parties, with music blaring almost nonstop. It does stop at bedtime, but forget an afternoon nap or siesta after a day out. The windows aren't double glazed, so some of that excessive noise might be reduced if they were. There are also no plug sockets or chargers by the bedside tables.
