Balluta Bay is a lovely little sandy beach and a popular swimming spot for locals and visitors alike. The emerald water and soft sand make it a nice place to pause, relax and take in the views. It’s right in the city centre, with a beautiful view of the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in San Ġiljan Knisja tal-Karmnu. A great photo spot, on Malta’s stunning Northeast coast between Sliema and St Julians.

It’s a small beach, but the water is beautiful, warm and sandy all the way through. There are stone steps around it, and you can find a bit of shade. There’s a lifeguard area, which is great to see. Shops, cafes, bars, ice cream and bus stops are all nearby, with jet ski 🎿 and a beautiful church to the right of the beach.

The location is good and the beach has potential, but it’s a total disaster. It was filthy, covered in garbage as if it had never been cleaned. The water was almost black from oil and gasoline :( Avoid this beach.

The view is great, but the beach is dirty and not suitable for swimming.

It gets very hot in summer, so bring something to drink. Nearby there are green areas with seats where you can sit and enjoy the view of the beach and the life around it. The beach itself is very nice, with lovely bars, restaurants and cafes surrounding it.
