Beach Garden Hotel

The room was in a small, two-floor annex beside the main Beach Garden Hotel, even though we had booked a double room. It had four single beds and tiny barred windows, and felt more like a prison-like hostel than a hotel room. The main building has several floors, but we were put in this side building. On the first night, a leaking toilet flooded the bathroom. We reported it straight away, but were refused a move and told it would be repaired. The same thing happened again on the second day, with no room change and no repair. We also found dirty pillowcases and towels. On the third morning, checkout day, rainwater flooded the entire room. Water dripped from the ceiling, bubbles formed under the wallpaper, and everything was soaked. We tried to speak with a manager or supervisor, but staff kept avoiding responsibility. On the day we left, they offered us a room to relax in before our flight as compensation. After all that, it felt insulting. There was no real apology and no effort to fix things. One staff member who said he was the manager, though he wasn’t, claimed Booking.com had lied about their communication. I was in contact with Booking at the time and had emails showing otherwise. The location was the only positive. The place was dirty, poorly maintained, and the staff were unfriendly with no accountability. I’m trying to escalate this through Booking.com and hope to get a refund. Avoid it.

The rooms are a disaster and need a full renovation. Water came up through the bathroom floor, the toilet door stuck, there wasn’t much hot water, and getting to the room meant a very long walk. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The worst moment came at 5 AM, when someone kicked in our door and entered the room. We were terrified and left three days before the end of our stay because we didn’t feel safe. There were parties every night until 7 AM, with loud music, shouting and food being thrown from balconies. Staff never stepped in. The shower also leaked all over the bathroom floor, which was a safety issue, though it was hardly the biggest problem. We told the front desk why we were leaving and were told management would be informed. Later, management said we hadn’t reported the break-in and refused to refund the three unused nights. This place felt unsafe, dirty, loud and badly run. Save yourself the stress and book somewhere else.

Everything about this hotel was bad for us, including the service and breakfast. A hotel worker told us we could park somewhere in St.Julian’s, then the rental car company called to say the car would be towed if we didn’t move it. Don’t stay here.
