Nula Apartments

Nulas appartment is perfectly placed on St Georges bay, and the prices are quite low compared with traditional hotels. After a rough first night, the rest of our stay went well. We were moved to another room the next day, and the staff did their best to make things easier for us with our 6 months old baby. The first room’s heater didn’t work, so we spent the night without heat. There was no night reception or emergency number, and we couldn’t reach anyone. That first night was a real nightmare.

We expected the self-catered apartment to be noisy because of where it is, but it turned out to be a wonderfully peaceful spot, just far enough from the busy bars. The staff were really helpful, and everything is handy. Great for the beach and the local bars and cafes.

The receptionist rescued our anniversary plans. A tour operator cancelled the day trip I’d specially arranged because of the windy weather, and I couldn’t find another agency with anything suitable that day. Since we had no extra day here, I was upset, but the receptionist quickly found an alternative and made my day. Now I’m keeping my fingers crossed about the weather. I’m spending my marriage anniversary at Nula Apartment, and I’ve fallen for both the island and this place. Our huge room faces the sea and has all the modern amenities. I’d read reviews saying it was noisy, but I haven’t heard a sound since arriving. The location is awesome, surrounded by pubs, restaurants, and the beach. The receptionist is very friendly and helpful. A little note: Google shows the right location, but we got a bit lost because the place’s name isn’t clearly marked. Our room is some distance from reception, reached by a long alley that’s dark at night and easy to get lost in. They should think about adding lights. That’s the only negative I can think of.

We chose this place because family were staying next door at Beach Garden hotel, where they had awful problems with party noise and filthy conditions. This hotel was perfect in comparison. It’s across from the beach at St George's Bay, on the edge of St Julian's, close to Paceville but far enough away to avoid much of the noise. The rooms are cozy and clean, with a good-sized bathroom. Double-glazed windows block a lot of the weekend party noise. There’s plenty of decent food nearby, a taxi rank close by, and one of the bigger St Julian's bus interchanges is about an 8-minute walk away.
