Hotel Kappara

I had a very disappointing experience with the front desk. My daughter checked me in yesterday and then left, and nobody was at reception at the time. The security cameras can confirm that. Later that night, while I was asleep, a staff member called my room and woke me to accuse me of having a guest, without any reason or proof. It was an unacceptable invasion of my privacy. I already have trouble falling asleep, and that unnecessary interruption ruined my night's rest. This showed a complete lack of professionalism and respect. Management needs to address it and properly train the staff.

The staff were friendly, and the room was spacious. The area is quiet and easy to reach by car. There were several problems, though: breakfast was basic and could use more choices, especially a toaster. The fridge in the bedroom was locked, the TV never worked and wasn't fixed during my stay, and my room was missed during cleaning one day. I had booked a twin room, confirmed by email, but got a double. To their credit, they sorted that out almost right away.

It’s a suburban location, but there are very cheap places to buy food and rent scooters not far away. In around 15 minutes on a scooter you can reach St Julian's, Sliema or Valletta. The staff were nice, my room was large and clean, and the pool, while not very big, was enough for relaxing. Good value for money.

The pool was nice, and the hotel is up near the upper part of the island, with a lovely view of Sliema bay. The rooms were clean, but you have to pay extra for the fridge. Breakfast was basic, with no hot food. Also, note that the rooms have English type sockets.
