The staff were very friendly, and the room was spacious and clean. The bath area was a little less clean, though. Breakfast was okay, but the air-conditioning was a real problem: it made an awful racket and couldn’t be set to a comfortable temperature, leaving us either too warm or freezing. We’d also been promised a lunch package for our departure morning. The concierge confirmed it the evening before, but it was forgotten. The pool felt more like a large bathtub, although the pool attendant did his best mixing cocktails.

We had a very spacious suite with a huge balcony. At this time of year it didn’t get much sun, but it was still a lovely place to stay. Breakfast came with the booking and was a generous buffet. We didn’t eat any other meals at the hotel. It’s well placed near the ferry terminal, with some good restaurants close by. Poloperro? is right on the front, less than five minutes away, and has a very reasonably priced set menu. All the staff were helpful and spoke good English. We had a nice stay.

We stayed five nights in June 2018. Our suite was laid out well, but the bathroom, especially the shower, needs updating, and the cleaning could be better. The pool furniture was still broken. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was the worst meal we’d ever had. We spoke to the chef, who said he thought nothing was wrong, though the four of us disagreed. They gave us a 50% discount and some burnt tarts as a peace offering. The hotel itself was okay, and the staff did their best. I’d give the place 2.5 stars at most.

The location is good, but for what we paid, this wasn’t value for money. The suites badly need an upgrade. Our double bed was two single beds that kept separating, and the air-conditioning didn’t work. When I complained, the receptionist dismissed what I was showing them and insisted the air was cold, which made us feel stupid. Breakfast was very basic and made with very low-quality ingredients. WiFi was so slow and unreliable that we had to use our mobile roaming allowance. Daily cleaning meant making the bed and changing towels, while everything else was left dirty. The service overall felt amateurish and unprofessional.
