Sliema Marina Hotel

The room was spacious, breakfast had lots of options, and the staff were genuinely kind. Special thanks to Aditya. They also gave me breakfast to go for my early 6 AM departure, and the price was very good for what the hotel offers. It’s in an excellent spot on the Sliema waterfront, opposite the Ferries terminal, close to The Point Shopping Mall and near good restaurants. I got a 10% discount at Opa! Mediterranean Fusion. One of the two elevators wasn’t working, the WiFi was a little slow, and the hotel feels somewhat dated, but I had a great stay and found it excellent value.

The balcony view from our room was beautiful and well worth the price. Malta gets around 300 days of sunshine a year, but even in the rain the view was still stunning. The team were kind and cheerful throughout, and their suggestions for places to visit helped us make the most of our time. At check-in, Sushma at reception and a lovely French intern, whose name I’m sorry I can’t remember, made us feel welcome and got us settled smoothly. I’d told the hotel ahead of time that it was my partner’s birthday and our first stay. They really made an effort, with birthday wishes, balloons in the room, a handwritten note and a bottle of delicious local wine. We both felt well looked after, left very satisfied, and would happily return.

Breakfast on the 8th floor was excellent, with lots to choose from, and we could eat on the terrace beside the dining room overlooking Sliema Bay. The staff are welcoming, capable and attentive, and the greeting is always warm and smiling. A special shout-out to Sushma 🙏 😉. This was my second stay, and I’m still delighted to return to the bright, spacious room and its superb sea view. The balcony is large and well insulated, with sturdy walls. One thing needs fixing: the shower curtain should really be replaced, since it leaves an unpleasant smell in the bathroom, even though it’d be such a simple change.

The location is right across from the Sliema ferry, with restaurants, shops and attractions all along the nearby strip. I want to especially thank front desk staff ALVARO and ADITYA, two of the nicest people I’ve met. Everyone was friendly and hospitable, and they helped me through my stay. The hotel upgraded me to a bigger room and included breakfast for free. If you need help, try to find Alvaro or Aditya, they were really helpful and guided me. Prices are good value, especially when booking online. I hope you’ll give Sliema Marina Hotel a try and enjoy it as much as I did.
