10 Strait Street

The apartments are beautiful, but the city noise has been chaotic during our three nights here. Music out front goes until 2am, then in the morning there’s noise at the back when the bins are handled. Even now, another group has arrived and everyone’s awake again. If you can sleep with earplugs and top of the range noise cancelling over the ear headphones, you may be fine. People who party until 3 probably won’t notice, but if that’s not you, I’d look elsewhere.

The location was excellent, near everything we needed, and the area felt safe, which was reassuring. The rest of the stay was mixed, though. The bathroom wasn’t clean enough, and the hot water pressure was so weak that showering was almost impossible. The floors were freezing, and with only one duvet on the bed, the nights were uncomfortable. For the price, we expected better. I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless those issues are improved.

There are bars downstairs, so light sleepers might struggle. But if you enjoy sitting in one of them with jazz playing on a picturesque lane, you won’t hear the noise. The spot is fantastic, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable.

We were two couples and loved the place. Both bedrooms were really nice, and the living room was large, with high ceilings. It’s probably the best street to stay on in Valletta.
