La Falconeria Hotel

We enjoyed our three days here. It’s a small boutique hotel in Valletta, Malta, with roomy, comfortable rooms and a brilliant breakfast selection. The main streets, lots of restaurants and historic buildings are all easy to reach.

The staff were thoughtful and very friendly. Since we had an early checkout for the airport, the receptionist arranged a packed breakfast for us to take along. The breakfast also has plenty of choice, with a self-service spread and items you can order from the menu. Our room was modern and very clean, and the location made it easy to walk to the main bus station and nearby main streets. There’s a lounge on the ground floor with a TV, coffee, tea and cold water; we relaxed there and filled our bottles before heading out each day. The basement has a gym and a very small pool, but I still really enjoyed an evening swim. Highly recommend!

There’s plenty to like here: the hotel is within walking distance of everything we wanted to see, the room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was awesome. The Eggs Benedict that everyone photographs really is that good. The staff were so friendly and helpful, too. With our return flight at midnight, they kept our bags after checkout and arranged for us to use the pool shower so we could freshen up after an afternoon and evening in the city. We did struggle with storage. There were no shelves, so our things stayed in the two cabin trolleys, and the nightstand drawers had to hold our socks and underwear. The furniture looks nice but isn’t very practical. We had to move the bathrobes onto a chair to make use of the only two coat hangers. Bring your own hangers, or even better, an IKEA Purrpingla!

Breakfast was excellent and the staff were very helpful. It’s a lovely boutique hotel in a quiet spot just off Valletta’s main streets, with well-appointed rooms. Highly recommended.
