The Duke Boutique Hotel

The breakfast was spot on, and the attentive staff kept things running smoothly while clearly caring about guests having a good experience. We were welcomed warmly and shown to a lovely room with a jacuzzi and two sun loungers on the terrace. It also had a huge bed, a minibar, and a beautiful bathroom with a rain shower. The whole place was spotless, and the staff were courteous, knowledgeable, and happy to help. I’ve stayed in hotels around the world, and for its price this is one I rate very highly. The hotel is central on Gozo, and you can get around by bus, though we used taxis and found them reasonably priced with door to door service. There’s a shopping mall below with a large supermarket and plenty of other shops. We spent two weeks here and it was nothing less than perfect. I’d highly recommend it to anyone wanting peace and quiet with discreet service close by when needed.

The room for guests with mobility limitations was very spacious and comfortable, though I wish it had outside facing windows. Ours looked only onto an interior patio. At check in, I got information about Gozo’s attractions, precautions to take given that one of us has mobility limitations, and restaurant suggestions. That made for an excellent experience. The hotel is about 300 metres from the centre of Vitória, on the upper floors of a shopping mall with a supermarket, restaurant, and several clothing and accessory shops. Breakfast was simple but covered the essentials, with a few extras. I had free parking in the covered garage, but it’s on level -4, deep inside, and the spaces are tight, so larger cars may have difficulty. There’s also a lot at the back that costs 2 euros and is much easier to use. I highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is on the upper floors of a mall, which surprised me, but it was quiet and easy to access, so it wasn’t an issue. It’s modern, very clean, and right in central Victoria, with friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast had lots of options, plus eggs and coffee made to order. You can walk to nearby sights and restaurants, and other parts of Gozo are a quick trip by car or taxi. There’s also a bus station just behind the hotel.

The rooms were amazing and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. For two nights we had a room with a double jacuzzi and steam room, then for one night we stayed in a different room with a dry sauna and jacuzzi on the veranda and a steam sauna inside. Both setups made for a really relaxing and enjoyable time. We were also given a bottle of Prosecco and chocolate cake, thank you so much. Tanja at reception was always smiling and positive. She was lovely and helpful, with suggestions for where to eat and what to see. We’ll definitely book again. It was unforgettable.
