Atlantis Lodge

Parking was the one slight hassle if you’ve hired a car. It can take a while to find a space, so I’ve marked the general location down a little. For diving, though, the place is brilliantly located right by the dive centre, handy if you realise you’ve forgotten your water or camera battery before heading out. The street is quiet. The room at Atlantis Lodge was very nice, newly renovated, and had air conditioning, a smart TV, comfortable beds, and a balcony. I liked the touch of naming the rooms after dive sites on Gozo. Breakfast was continental, with fresh eggs available, and the room rate was excellent. This review is for the accommodation and Atlantis Lodge ONLY.

The staff were amazing, and the breakfast was good. It wasn’t fancy, but had everything needed to leave you full and satisfied. It’s a quiet area, within walking distance of shops, the beach, and the bus stop, and just down the street from the Atlantis dive center, which is handy for early dives. The place has been recently renovated, though it still needs a little touch-up to be great.

The real highlight was the diving and the wonderful people we met along the way. We went diving with Atlantis and stayed at the lodge. Our room was very clean and had everything we needed, and breakfast was included and made especially for us.

The location works really well for divers and is still close to the center. The marina and seaside restaurants are about a seven-minute walk away. Check-in and check-out were easy, with no issues. Breakfast was delivered to the room for hygiene reasons, and I could choose from a list. My room wasn’t very clean when I arrived, though it was cleaned and the towels were changed each day. The towels and bathroom had a rather odd damp smell, probably because of the heat and humidity. There are work sites beside the lodges, and from 8am to 7pm you could hear loud hammering. That’s not much of a problem if you’re out diving, but could be annoying on a day off. This review is only for the LODGE, not for the dive store.
