Hillock Residence Apartments

The apartments themselves are comfortable and clean, and the air conditioning works really well. The common areas are also kept tidy and in good shape. I liked the underground garage, though its door was broken and stuck open throughout our visit. The pool is lovely but there aren't enough sunbeds for everyone, which was a shame. The outside of the building could use some repainting. I'd recommend it.

The flat is bright and airy, and the apartments are modern and clean in a great spot. It was helpful to have two sets of towels, including one for the pool. The pool itself is a nice area, but absolutely freezing. The beds were the main letdown. The mattresses are very cheap and painfully uncomfortable, with springs that twang loudly whenever you move. The pillows aren't good either, and the bed linen is only average. Wi-Fi also needs a booster, since it doesn't reach the bedroom at the far end.

The location is handy for the sea and nearby amenities, with shops on the same street, but it's a busy road surrounded by cars and apartments. The photos show lovely views, while our actual outlook was the street on one side and a wall on the other. The pool was nice, though small for everyone who can use it, so it gets crowded quickly. There were six of us and the three-bedroom place was big enough and reasonably comfortable. But it's basic, and I wouldn't give it the four stars shown on the site. The host had already left me with a bad feeling before we arrived. I asked about checking in at noon instead of 3pm, and got a whole paragraph back that felt quite arrogant. Nothing else was said, and since we'd paid upfront and couldn't cancel, I just went at 3pm and didn't ask again. One pillow had a brownish stain. The fuzzy corridor wall was ugly to look at, and the dishwasher didn't work. It also smelled strongly of stagnant water when we arrived, which makes no sense if it could have been cleaned out beforehand.

The price was fixed regardless of how many people came, and it worked out very reasonable, even for someone like me who criticizes everything. We had a nice six-night stay in the hottest part of summer. There were five to seven of us, and the three air conditioners, one over the sofa and two in the separate rooms, kept us cool all day. The fridge and freezer worked very well, and lighting, internet and the PS4 TV screen were all fine. The apartment was clean, the doors shut properly, and the beds were comfortable enough to fall asleep quickly. We had one towel each, though extra towels would have been welcome. The extra fleecy sheets helped us sleep well too. The back view was nice, but the other side faced construction. Cooking was a bit of a struggle with the pan, while the plates and cutlery were good enough. The pool gets sun all day, so the water is a bit warm, and the area closes at 7pm, which is too early. I'd give it 4.5 if I could, but rated it 4/5.
