The Garden Lodge Pereybere - Piscine

We were a group of about 26 and paid almost Rs. 100,000, but the service was really bad. The Garden Lodge was filthy: dirty linens and bathroom, dusty furniture, an uncomfortable bed, and staff whose basic hygiene seemed optional. The food was awful, too. The rates were sky-high for such poor service. We work all year for a peaceful break, and this place turned it into a nightmare. At minimum, cleanliness and courtesy should be basic standards. My mum went with a group of older friends, and they regretted spending their money. The place has potential, but it’s barely maintained and short-staffed. Cleanliness, the welcome, housekeeping, food and drinks, and entertainment could all be much better if the owners took the reviews seriously. They should carefully read the 165 reviews on their business page.

Breakfast was due at 08:30, but it didn’t arrive until 09:15, and then it was cold, stale dipain raci. Easily the worst hotel food I’ve had. The room was filthy and had a strong, unpleasant smell. The bed was uncomfortable, creaked with every move, and was infested with bed bugs. Even the bathroom drain was clogged, making basic hygiene difficult. I paid a premium expecting a decent stay and got nothing like it. The price and service don’t match at all. I’d have been better off at home. Save your money, sleep, and sanity. THE GARDEN LODGE, never again.

The pool wasn’t properly clean, and the staff were so cold, not a smile from anyone. The room wasn’t great either, and the TV didn’t work. We were told tea would be brought to our room, but it never came. There was no menu choice, just riz fritz, and they offered one already-open 2L bottle of Fanta or Coke. No dessert, nothing extra to eat. I’d have understood if even that had to be paid for. Very disappointing. I already complained at the front desk.
