Sea Diamond Boutique Hotel & Spa by Sea Resorts

We landed on time from Dubai and were put on a bus at 4:45 pm on Saturday. Then we waited there for almost an hour and a half without anyone from the hotel answering our questions. People were exhausted, including children worn out by the journey and very tired older passengers. Some of us were hungry after having lunch on the flight nearly five hours earlier. I just wanted a glass of water, which seems like a basic courtesy for hotel guests. I don't know who's managing hotel quarantine, but with no hotel representative around, I had nowhere else to raise this. This is very poor service so far. We still have 14 days of quarantine ahead, so we'll see what happens once we reach the hotel. The full amount was collected in advance, and now it feels like we're left to hope for the best. I'd tell anyone considering quarantine here to think about avoiding it.

The rooms at Sea life are really spacious, with air conditioning, a TV, and the basics you need to settle in. The receptionists were very nice to me, too. Those are the two things behind my two stars. The food was mostly not edible. Apart from the two days with the usual fries and lamb, the meals were just awful. If you care about what you eat, pack plenty of snacks and your favorite food, or pick another hotel. The Wi-Fi was terrible when I wrote this, so get a Mauritius data SIM if you can. Unless you're fine with hunger, any kind of meal, and no good internet, you may end up staring at the painted walls and counting the neatly lined-up coffee packets.

The food during quarantine was a problem. There was far too much rice and not many alternatives, so some nights we were better off eating bread and going to sleep. When we first arrived, Sealife seemed amazing. But the Wi-Fi is awful, and getting work done is out of the question. Download speed may not even hit 1 Mbps, the signal is weak, and devices keep disconnecting.

The beach is pretty small, but the pool is lovely. The staff are amazing, always friendly and smiling. Rooms are okay.
