The bar was phenomenal, especially the arranged rhums. The food was gorgeous, generous portions, and affordable, and we loved the cocktails. The staff were fantastic. We came as a couple for the second time and stayed nearly a week. I didn’t appreciate the admin asking the day before what time we’d leave, then telling us to be on time because new clients were expected. If you ask us and we tell you, that should be enough. Your bad experiences shouldn’t become ours.

The welcome from the host was great, and they were friendly throughout my stay. My comfort room was very spacious and had everything I needed. Dinner at the restaurant had limited choices, but it was awesome, the chef is a great cook. The live music show was wonderful too. I’ll definitely return.

The setting in Grand Baie is quiet and really convenient, and there's a small parking lot. The complex doesn't have many rooms, but it looks quite run-down and dated. Breakfast gets repetitive, and dinner has to be ordered ahead. It's an adults-only hotel.

There are three very good restaurants close by, and a 15-minute walk gets you to two malls with more places to eat and shop. You can also take public transport to the botanical garden or the capital. The hotel itself felt restful and was spotless and well kept, with new air conditioners and showers, fresh cotton linens changed often, and friendly owners who provided good service. For the price, we were very happy. Dinner at the hotel was good and French-style if you choose to eat there. The location isn't beachfront, and getting to the beach means crossing a busy road twice. There's a nice beach that doesn't show on the map, but crossing hot asphalt can feel like a lot of effort. Breakfast stays much the same each day, though we got used to it and they can make small changes if you ask. One small annoyance was that the dog was allowed to poop on the grass and nobody seemed to deal with it.
