We stayed two nights in ground-floor room 1. There was no ocean view, and no cleaning service, though we didn't really need one. The calm, peaceful atmosphere was lovely, and there's something special about the birds singing in Mauritius. We were impressed by the three massage chairs and the coffee machine with real beans at reception. Lots of little details were thoughtful: yoga mats, aqua shoes, a good hairdryer, an iron, mosquito repellents, plenty of kitchenware, strong hot water pressure in the shower, and reliable internet. The one thing that felt a bit pushy was the message from Booking, where we made the reservation, asking us to leave a review with a 10/10 rating, rather than simply asking for a review.

The room was big and clean, and had everything we needed. There's also a laundry we could use free of charge. The rusty pelican is conveniently located if you have a car, close to Le Morne beach and Chamarel, with good restaurants and cafes nearby. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back!

In the mornings you can hear birds singing, and the place has a real holiday feel. It's spacious and fully equipped. We absolutely loved it and felt right at home.

We were two couples and liked having separate rooms and bathrooms, while sharing a fully equipped kitchen and dining area. We made plenty of meals at the big dining table. The pool area was a dream, both for a refreshing dip and for relaxing on the deck. The place was just right for us. It's in a quiet, mostly residential area, but we could easily get to what we needed, including the big supermarket and some restaurants on foot. An unforgettable stay that exceeded our expectations. Totally recommended!
