From the outside, the place didn’t look very inviting, but inside it’s really clean and I felt at ease straight away. I’ve been to a lot of places on the island and appreciate the care they’ve put into this one. It’s not a four-star hotel, of course, but for a budget stay I’d give it five stars for the details. The room has its own bathroom and toilet, and there’s a shared kitchen with all the amenities.

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the manageress gave us a friendly welcome. There were excellent self-service breakfast options too. Great value for money.

Mahebourg is the real Mauritius, and the place is close to everything. We spent a week here with our two little girls and my wife, and felt right at home. The rooms are comfortable and very clean, the big kitchen works well, and the internet was fine. Sylviane is a lovely person, so hospitable and helpful. Thank you, Sylviane!

We rented a car with the host’s help, and buses from all over Mauritius seemed to come right to AdmiralMahe’s doorstep. The central market in Mahebourg is just across the road. There aren’t many tourist restaurants in town, so eating out means a somewhat limited choice, though there’s a KFC downstairs. Airport transfers worked well, and I’d stay here again. What made the stay special was how genuinely helpful the hosts were. They looked after the little details and even took us for a short drive around on our first day. Whenever we asked about activities, they followed up with third parties and arranged things we’d found ourselves, working for our benefit rather than for commissions through hotel sales deals. If you want to experience Mauritius, its people and culture, this is a great place to stay.
