Astroea Beach Hotel

The hotel is old and due for refurbishment, but it’s clean. The relaxed mood, good service and awesome food are what give it its charm. The food was 5/5, and the environment and beach were also 5/5. With only a limited number of guests, it’s peaceful and private, and the staff make the service personal. My wife and kids loved it. The beach has clear, warm water, so who needs a pool? We had a great stay and would recommend it to everybody.

It’s a quiet hotel right by the beach, about a 20-minute drive from the airport. A taxi costs 1000 rupees. Snorkelling was good, and there’s a nice walk along the coast. We had good-quality breakfast and dinner with an ocean view.

Only good for pictures, not for the food or service. We waited over an hour, while people who arrived later and weren’t staying there got served first. That felt completely unfair. The drinks came early and were finished before our main course arrived. The food was unacceptable. The fish fillet had bones, the chicken was hard and not tender, and the prices were overrated. The poor service and food upset my stomach and caused diarrhea afterward. Given the quality and service, they should have offered a discount. I’d never pay to go back.

There’s no pool or crowd here, just 17 steps to the sea and the sunrise from your terrace starting at 6 a.m. The hotel isn’t the newest, and it’s simple, but it’s simply beautiful. I’ve rarely found a place this wonderful, with people to match. The service is perfect, and Maneesha, Lovelash, Usha and Mr. Sham make sure you have a perfect stay. If you need high-class luxury, you’re missing what makes this place special. It’s about taking it easy and spending a lovely time with special people.
