The location is a plus, with supermarkets and restaurants nearby, and Pointe d'Esny Beach is about a 30-minute walk away. The landlady and her two daughters, who work at the hotel, were very friendly. Still, for me, the price feels too high for what you get. The building is very worn and run down, and there was a strong urine smell in the entrance. Our family room had a comfortable enough bed for the parents, but the children's bed was dusty and had little spiders on it. The sheets and towels smelled unpleasant, like old water, and hygiene generally seemed lacking. Those are things you may have to expect in a 2-star hotel. They weren't ready for us at check-in and only began cleaning our assigned room after we arrived, so we waited an hour. In the end we were moved to the family room because the door lock on the assigned room was broken. Breakfast is included but very basic. They offered to cook dinner for an extra charge, though we didn't take them up on it. It's bearable if your expectations are modest and your activities in the area are the main focus.

I didn't stay at the hotel, but rented a car from them without any problems and used one of the toilets, which was budget. It's in a lovely spot for getting to know mahebourg.

I went there to rent a car. You only need a passport to get the vehicle, and the vehicles are fully insured. Nice place near the sea.

Don't waste your money. It's very unclean and smells bad, and the infrastructure isn't maintained. The pool was infested and smelled like cat pee.
