The hostess is a very good person, and the service is excellent. They have everything guests need, with thoughtful amenities that make it feel like a home away from home. The guest house is excellently located: the bus station is a short walk away, Mahebourg waterfront is a 10-minute walk, and an ATM, supermarket and eateries are all within 5-7 minutes on foot. The bus to Blue Bay costs 30 MRU. The airport is 10-15 minutes by cab (600MRU), or you can take the 7am bus for 30 MRU. My one problem was the cramped bathroom. The step is very narrow and slippery, so easy to miss, and the shower railing was low enough to hurt my husband's head. Even so, it's a very good option for a stay.

The host was so nice that she let me cancel my three-day reservation for free. I stayed for one night anyway, and her family helped me cook in their kitchen!

It's not new, but everything was very clean and serviceable. I stayed six nights and had everything I could want. Staff were courteous and helpful, and I enjoyed the rooftop breakfast every morning. The restaurants are good, and the big supermarket nearer the foreshore is excellent. For the price, it's excellent.

Tyvabro has a lovely team who'll get you what you need with a heartwarming smile. It's close to the market, shops and even ATMs. With clean sheets, A/C and breakfast, it's the perfect motel for the price if you're spending the night while visiting around Mahébourg.
