Baleau Studio

We had a lovely two-day break here. It was clean, comfortable and peaceful, just right for relaxing and having some quiet time. I'd definitely recommend it.

The worst place to plan a stay. Avoid booking here, especially if you have young children or are travelling alone. I paid in advance for a two-bedroom apartment for two days and booked ahead. I was told the key would be on the table, but when I arrived with my child, I found out the host had given the apartment to someone else without telling me or getting confirmation. I've travelled all over the world and never had an experience this bad. The host threatened and cursed at me while my young children were tired. He told me I could sleep on the street, so I had to find somewhere else for that night and the next day, neither of which was suitable. I was furious at the aggressive, disrespectful way he treated paying clients, especially while drinking. I reported it to my local police station and to booking.com. I also have a full recording of the conversation, and witnesses who heard him be rude and aggressive to me on the phone. The host may reply to this review and pretend I was at fault, but I have proof he never contacted me. If someone books and pays through a site you're registered with, you have to honour it. If you can't manage basic communication or respect a confirmed booking, remove yourself from those sites. Avoid this place if you don't want to risk being left with nowhere to sleep.

The quiet location made a lovely escape from the city's bustle, and the host gave me helpful suggestions for places to eat and things to do. I only stayed one night, but left feeling rested and grateful for such a warm welcome. The host went out of their way to make me comfortable. My room was spotless, cosy and nicely decorated, and the bed made for a great night's sleep. It felt like home. I'd happily come back and recommend this homestay to anyone looking for a comfortable, welcoming and authentic stay.

Watch out for this place. The property was dirty and had cockroaches, and I found the people rude and unprofessional. The person even cut off the water and internet to make me leave. This is a complete scam, so travellers should be careful.
