Hibiscus Boutique Hotel

The most thoughtful part of our stay at Hibiscus Boutique Hotel was being allowed to keep our room for another 8 hours at no extra cost while we waited for our transfer. It made leaving so much less stressful. The hotel itself is lovely and intimate, in a great location, with a relaxed, welcoming feel. Everyone on staff was kind and helpful, and did a lot to make us comfortable. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend it for the hospitality.

The rooms were okay, but the food selection and service didn’t feel worth the price. At the bar, the barman seemed to let his friends jump ahead in the queue while other people waited. There’s no beach directly in front of the hotel, just rocks; the public beach is nearby. I think there are better options around for the same money.

The food was decent, and the F&B staff were very good. The resort manager also seemed like a good person. Still, I’d advise being careful with valuables here. The safe worked sometimes and failed other times, and we were told it was our fault if things went missing because we hadn’t used it. Even an empty jewellery box left on the bedside table could disappear, with the blame put on the guest. When I reported a loss, the person in charge at reception called me a liar to my face. The front office manager was especially unpleasant at check-in and even worse at check-out. There were lots of cockroaches in the room, along with geckos and other animals, which the hotel’s nature-friendly setting seems to attract. Bring your own insect spray if you stay. There’s no proper beach, only slippery rocks. I’d avoid this place. There are nicer places nearby with friendlier staff where you can leave your belongings in your room without worrying about them going missing.

The beach was beautiful, and we felt safe leaving our rental car in the secure parking. The prices were fair too, especially for restaurant drinks and massages. What made the stay for us was the welcoming, family-like atmosphere. The staff were so friendly, answered questions honestly and thoughtfully, and sorted out little problems within minutes. We had a great time at Hibiscus Boutique Hotel.
