For a lovely dinner in Mauritius, this is my favorite spot. The setting is beautiful, the service is excellent, and the food is really good. Definitely worth a visit!

The restaurant has an elegant, romantic feel, with lovely colonial-style decor, so it would suit a special occasion. We booked online a day or two ahead for a weekday dinner. In the end it was just the two of us, since the other groups were running late. Our waiter was attentive, the service was spot on, and the food arrived quickly and tasted good.

The gardens around the hotel were so peaceful, and the rooms felt both comfortable and elegant. I celebrated my birthday here, and the thoughtful, attentive staff made it feel really special. Staying in this 17th-century colonial-style building was a memorable mix of history, comfort, and calm. I’d happily recommend it for a unique, relaxing getaway.

The meal was the part that fell short. We had the lamb and shrimp curry with a few appetizers, and the flavors didn’t quite live up to the grand surroundings, though the team’s care helped make up for that. The staff were welcoming and attentive all evening. The salon’s timeless elegance made a lovely start to dinner, and the history, artifacts, and story of the estate added a lot to the experience. Demeure Saint Antoine had the best atmosphere and venue we’d come across in six months of traveling. It left a lasting impression, and some work on the menu could bring the dining experience closer to the setting.
