I’ve known Cotton Bay since I was a child and used to come here for much of my life, so this is an honest review. The place feels cold and boring. It isn’t ugly, but it has no charm, vibe, or atmosphere. The food was just as dull: I ordered fresh tuna as listed on the menu and got tinned tuna, and the other ingredients included industrial ham when there’s amazing local ham around. You might enjoy it if you haven’t experienced better, but the island has plenty of authentic, charming places serving tasty local food. Why bother?

They even made a tasty, varied vegan menu every day when we asked. The hotel itself is beautiful and very well kept, right on a fantastic stretch of beach. Our room was bright and clean, and there’s a big pool.

Our room was spacious, tidy, and clean, with a homely feel, and the food each day had plenty of healthy vegetarian choices. The hotel staff were helpful throughout our four-day holiday. Williano at reception was especially helpful, went beyond what we expected, and shared tips on places to see in Rodrigue. Definitely recommend.

The setting at Cotton Bay is peaceful, beautiful, and close to nature, and we felt welcome from the moment we arrived with our family in April. What made the stay meaningful was the care from the team. We were travelling with an elderly relative who has specific dietary needs, and the chef personally arranged special menus for her. Everything was delicious, and all the staff were kind and attentive. There’s a special feeling to the place, both in the surroundings and in the service. We left with lovely memories and hope to come back. Thank you to the Cotton Bay team.

The staff kept smiling and were friendly and helpful, which made us feel comfortable and happy there. Our first family trip to cotton bay was awesome from the welcome at check-in right through to checkout. The food was excellent, 10/10. If you need a break from your routine, I highly recommend it.
