Island Pavilion Maldives

We were a family of four and stayed here for four nights. The team treated us with a lot of respect and did everything they could to make the stay wonderful. The beach is close and the food is great, so I have only good things to say about the place and its staff. I wish I could leave feedback on booking, but we booked directly after Local inn hotel canceled our booking stay. I really do not recommend Local inn or its associated hotel because of several issues and bad behavior. Thank you for taking care of us!

The rooms were cozy and clean, and there was always hot water. The staff were ready to help whenever we needed something. We spent ten days here enjoying the magical sea. If nature is what you’re after, this place is for you; if you want luxury, look elsewhere. We’d love to come back and have the same experience again.

The people locally were friendly and tried to help us with a few things. Thanks to Abdullah, who owns the artwork shop about a seven-minute walk from the hotel, and to Ayaz the fisherman, who was great. The rest of our stay was disappointing in many ways. WiFi mostly worked only in the downstairs lobby, and getting a signal in the upstairs room was difficult. Breakfast had very few choices: usually fried or boiled eggs, watery jam, butter, bread for toasting, chewy breaded eggs, water, and juice. The tablecloths were very dirty, as if they hadn’t been cleaned. Our foot towel was clean when we arrived but got dirty after a couple of days and was never replaced. The bathroom was okay, though the mirror was broken. I had to ask for towels, shower gel, and toilet paper, and there was only hand soap at first. My friend and I went sunset fishing. The sunset wasn’t great, though that wasn’t their fault, and we caught two fish between us. After waiting, only one fish was served. Sayaz said it was too late to cook the other when I asked about it, which upset me since we expected both fish. We paid $50 each. The excursions were definitely overpriced, and Sayaz seemed greedy, trying to overcharge us for almost everything.

I was left without the basic things I expected: no clean water, hot water, towels, sheets, plates, good food, or the advertised facilities. There was no WiFi either. I went through Travel in Budget and wouldn’t recommend that company. I even went hungry. This isn’t suitable for families, and I’d never return or recommend it.
