We loved our stay and would definitely return. The Maldivian breakfast was delicious, and every other meal we ordered was excellent too. Staff were wonderfully friendly and the service felt first class. The beachfront setting gave us lovely views and easy access to the sea. Our room was spotless and spacious, with beautiful decor, large quality beds, and careful attention to detail.

The team made this three-night stay for our family of nine feel extraordinary. Monda and the staff were attentive throughout, and treated us like family. On arrival, Monda met us at the jetty in a buggy, and Abdullah, Saif, Shimul, and Sujon welcomed us at the villa. Staff stayed nearby in case we needed anything, but told us we could ask for privacy and they would leave. They never got in the way. When our five-year-old needed a toenail clipper, they brought one over. Sujon also drove us around the island and dropped us at the beach when we asked. We were told to call for a ride back, but chose to walk and explore instead. We had a private speedboat from the jetty, and the trip to Dhifushi took 40 minutes to an hour. At the villa, we were greeted with drinks and shown around. The four rooms were nicely decorated, with sparkling clean bathrooms and a beautiful backyard view. Two rooms had joined beds and two had twin beds. They added an extra bed at no charge because one of our teenagers didn’t want to sleep alone. Rooms had the usual amenities, including a kettle, mini fridge, and safe. By the beach there were swings, plus tables and chairs for meals. You could sit by the shore and listen to the waves in a peaceful setting. The backyard connects to another property they own, with four single-story bedrooms leading to the same area. Each of those rooms also has its own backyard just behind it, so guests don’t have to share that space. We were told that larger groups can be given those four rooms along with the four-bedroom villa. If a group of four books the villa, they get the whole villa, and the other two rooms aren’t rented to anyone else. Monda arranged a full-day tour and night fishing for us the next day. We caught barracuda and grouper, took the grouper back, and the team cooked an outdoor barbecue. We also ordered food from the menu. There were speakers available if we wanted to play music. The fishing ended around 9 p.m., so dinner ran late. The following night, Monda called a shop and got it to open at 11 p.m. so we could buy souvenirs after dinner. That was very kind of the shop owner. Breakfast was a highlight. They made both English and Maldivian food, including toast, sausages, eggs, baked beans, and local dishes. They also cooked instant noodles we’d brought from home. Each evening we told them what time we wanted breakfast the next day. We were welcomed like royalty from the moment we arrived, with warm service, lovely decor, and so much care. If you’re after a fantastic experience, this place deserves a long review.

Monda, the manager, made our holiday feel special by advising us, guiding us, and making sure our needs were met. The chef cooked very well, and we really enjoyed his food. Veli Vilaa is a comfortable, delightful place, and all the staff were attentive and professional, like staff at a five-star resort.

We’d visited the Maldives before, but this was a completely different and amazing experience. Our family of 12, including six children, had a wonderful time, and it was the best trip we’ve had, especially for the kids. The villa was clean and new, with spacious rooms and clean bathrooms. We loved the views from the porch and beachside seating, with swings to relax on. The welcome was lovely, with refreshments, cold towels, and friendly staff. Our housekeeper, Sideeq, kept everything clean and made sure we had what we needed without being asked. Our chef Yeslam and sous chef Fareed made amazing food and whatever else we requested, including Karak tea. Everyone was polite, friendly, and attentive. Francis, the villa manager, kept us busy with activities like snorkeling, turtle and dolphin hunting, feeding stingrays, and other sea activities.
