Ataraxis Grand and Spa

The room was spacious, spotless, and really nice, with a comfortable bed and a pleasant balcony. They cleaned it every day and provided shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, and body lotion. We stayed at Ataraxis for six nights, and the staff were super friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. They also made sure breakfast fit around our diving schedule. I’d definitely stay there again if I get back to Fuvahmulah. Thanks, Ataraxis team!

The beef burger was especially good, with a juicy patty and well-seasoned fries, and the food overall had good variety. Breakfast could use more choices, though. It was mostly the same each day: pancakes or French toast, white bread, tuna mashuni, cucumber and greens, banana, and watermelon. The guesthouse is peaceful, and the room was spacious and clean, with comfortable bedding, good lighting, and a balcony where you can sit and enjoy the breeze. A yoga mat is available if you ask. A few basic items would have helped, like a dental kit, tea selection, shower cap, and slippers. The safe was a bit complicated, so clearer instructions would be useful. There’s a traditional charcoal sauna available until 6 pm, before the restaurant opens. There’s also a gym with weights, a treadmill, and other useful equipment, which is a nice addition compared with many guesthouses. Some soft background music on the rooftop dining area might improve the atmosphere. For the price, it’s good value, and I’d consider coming back.

The beach is right nearby, and there are nice cafés close by too. The team arranged all our activities and handled the gear and transport smoothly. We were nervous about the tiger shark dives, but they were reassuring and supportive the whole time. Mohamed was always available, quick to respond, and friendly, while the restaurant staff were just as welcoming and helpful, especially at the buffet. We had a great stay at Ataraxis in Fuvamulah and would definitely recommend it.

The restaurant staff made every meal enjoyable, with great food and impeccable service. Our waiter Khokon was kind, attentive, and seemed to anticipate what we needed. What stood out at Ataraxis was how smoothly the whole team worked together, with real care and attention. Before our trip, Afrah helped me arrange the booking for my mother and me. He was responsive, patient, professional, and made sure all our requests were handled. When we reached Fuvahmulah, operations manager Ham was already waiting at the airport and recognized us right away. He drove us to the hotel, helped us get settled, and gave us his number so we could contact him if we needed anything. That personal attention made us feel truly looked after. The team’s care made this one of my most memorable stays. If you’re visiting Fuvahmulah, especially to dive, Ataraxis is a gem. Thank you to everyone there. We’ll definitely return.
