Sirru Fen Fushi Private Lagoon Resort

The island scenery was stunning from the moment we arrived, and swimming, snorkeling, and the resort's activities were all enjoyable and picturesque. We also had varied, delicious food, excellent housekeeping, and kind, welcoming staff at each facility. The stay got off to a stressful start because the reservation details didn't match, and we had conflicts over email before arrival. Getting around was frustrating too: bicycles are the main transport, but we were repeatedly given broken ones. After we reported a missing bike, it took a full day to get a replacement. Our host, or butler, didn't handle our requests well and sometimes passed on incorrect information, which caused several problems. Requests also rarely got dealt with the first time. We often had to ask two or three times before anything happened.

Five days went by too quickly. The island has a distinctive setting and its natural ecology seems very well preserved. We saw hermit crabs, lizards, and local birds, and the snorkeling was fantastic. The best spot was right by the water villas, where tropical fish were everywhere. Our video footage came out beautifully. The rooms are spacious, and having private pools was lovely. There are lots of activities, but the sunset party was the one we remember most. We were grateful for how warm, friendly, and attentive the staff were to our whole family. Time in the art studio with Bee, Nishan, and Marko was especially fun. We chatted about our hobbies and art, and quickly learned Chinese Mahjong together. We became such good friends, and those memories will stay with us. Jinah, our butler, also made the trip much easier with daily transportation. It was an unforgettable stay with excellent service and surroundings. We only wish we could have stayed longer to discover more and try new things.

Getting to and from the resort was easy, with a staff member waiting at the airport and arranging everything. The room was kept lovely and clean with service twice a day. All the staff, including the general manager, were so warmhearted that it felt like being with family, and we felt at home. We stayed three nights in a beach villa and two in a sunset-side water villa. The scenery was beautiful. Our villa host, Faisal, was trustworthy, quick to respond, and good at communicating and organizing things. He helped us order, change, or cancel activities and events. The food exceeded our expectations, with lots of delicious dishes from different regions and countries. The chef and waiters were friendly and helpful, and the lead organized the food service very well. The dive centre team were friendly too. Coach Areesh and his team, Hardy Seytu Hashem, were professional and nice. On the way back from snorkeling, with their help, we were lucky enough to see hundreds of dolphins. Amazing! There were two notable guests during our stay. Kramer, a former Germany football team player who won the 2014 World Cup, was there, and the hotel organized a football tournament. We really enjoyed it. We will come back in the future!

The gym was the one disappointing part for us as guests who enjoy fitness. The equipment is quite old, and cleanliness could be better. Updating the machines and improving hygiene would make the experience better. Even so, we had a wonderful, memorable stay, especially because of the diving, and I'd still recommend the resort highly. The dive team, Bo, Hardy, and Jazi, were professional. With Miss Bo guiding me, I was lucky to see five turtles and a great variety of fish. The dive felt smooth, relaxed, and comfortable, the best one I've had so far. Seyt and Hashem on the boat crew were extremely friendly and attentive throughout. Daya also deserves recognition for keeping the areas clean and well maintained. A special thanks to Sting, the Chinese Head Chef. The Chinese dishes were excellent, and having authentic Chinese food on the island was a real pleasure. Service was outstanding overall, and I'd definitely recommend this resort to Chinese families.
