Mercure Maldives Kooddoo Resort

We loved every minute at the Mercure Maldives Kooddoo Resort and would happily return. Every meal was delicious, carefully prepared, and nicely presented, with nothing that disappointed us. The staff were warm and welcoming, and their personal touch made the stay feel special. Service and attention to detail were excellent from beginning to end, with the team doing everything they could to make us comfortable.

The calm, adults-only setting made it easy to switch off, and there were a few relaxed activities available if we wanted a change from doing nothing. Nothing felt pushed or overplanned. We first stayed at Mercure Kooddoo five years ago, and it’s impressive that the standards still feel consistent without the place seeming dated. The whole visit ran smoothly from arrival through departure, thanks to a team that seemed to have everything thought through. There isn’t just one standout feature; the consistency across the resort is what makes it special. It’s still among the best-value resorts we’ve experienced in the Maldives.

We spent plenty of time enjoying the clear water, pristine beach, and marine life around the beautiful resort. The overwater sunset bungalows were ideal for unwinding, with lots of space, direct access to the lagoon, and a thoughtful layout. Getting ready for the trip was easy too, with smooth communication beforehand and domestic flight arrangements handled seamlessly. Both restaurants served delicious food, and the chefs and restaurant staff deserve credit for the excellent service. The staff throughout the resort did everything they could to make us comfortable. The tennis court was a nice extra, though newer balls would be welcome. If we’d known, we would have brought our own set.

This is a lovely spot for a quiet break, with helpful, friendly staff and some of the best food I’ve had. The Alinta buffet had plenty of variety, and the all-inclusive option made the stay easier and more relaxing. Snorkelling, SUP, and massages are available if you want them. The jetski was unfortunately out of action. There was a DJ at the bar every night, but hardly anyone danced, so the atmosphere was mostly missing. It’s really a place for lounging quietly and eating.
