Marukab Plaza

The staff were warm, upbeat, and attentive from the moment we arrived, which made us feel at ease throughout the stay. Getting to and from the airport was easy with the free transfers. We had an early flight on departure day, and they thoughtfully packed breakfast for us to take along. We had a wonderful stay and really appreciated the hospitality. Highly recommend it!

A friendly place to stay for a one-night stop before heading to your resort, especially if you arrive in the Maldives after 4pm. The hotel is one street back from the water. The complimentary shuttle takes about 10 minutes, the rooms are very clean, and breakfast is simple but good. I'd book again.

We couldn't sleep at all at Marukab Plaza because construction next door kept going through the night, with a generator and jackhammer. Staff gave us earplugs, but you can guess how much those helped against a jackhammer. A hotel is meant to let you sleep, and the noise made that impossible. They should have closed while the construction was going on. We asked for some money back since the nightly rate was expensive for the city even under those conditions, but they flatly refused. A very bad stay.

The rooms were clean and stylish, and the location was perfect. When there was confusion with my booking on arrival, one team member was very cooperative and sorted it out. I can't remember the names of the two male staff, one at reception and one in the breakfast room, but both were friendly and hospitable. A couple of the female staff, though, were quite rude, talking over me and seeming uninterested in my concern about having to pay for a business trip out of my own pocket. I was glad the other guy at the front desk was there.
