The Somerset Hotel

After a difficult holiday and a disappointing stay at our previous island resort, we arrived with low expectations. The Somerset Hotel turned things around completely and ended up being the highlight of our trip. The whole team was kind and professional, and gave us great suggestions for what to see in the city. Bibek deserves a heartfelt thank you. He met us at the airport and escorted us to the hotel, made sure we had plenty of water in the room, and kept us company during the transfer. He was exceptional and went out of his way to make us comfortable. We felt at home from the moment we arrived. The room was cozy and had everything we needed, including quality toiletries, slippers, plush towels, bathrobes, drinking water, and an in-room coffee machine. We stayed one night because of an early flight transfer, and the team's kindness made all the difference.

Vincent helped me check in, and even though I arrived well before check-in time, he got my room ready. He also found me a great deal to extend my stay the next day since my flight wasn't until almost midnight. The room was as expected, nothing fancy, but a good size, very clean, and everything worked. The in-room Nespresso was a big plus. Great service and value, highly recommend.

We had to stay overnight because of a late flight. The air conditioning was super cold, and everything worked well. It was clean, and all the staff were really good. A good location if you're visiting Male.

The rooms were clean and breakfast was a nice semi-buffet. A few things went wrong, including the airport transfer, a water stoppage one morning, and a Wi-Fi outage, but the friendly staff sorted everything out in the end. The hotel is centrally located in Male. The main downside was how much noise came through the thin doors when loud guests arrived or came back late at night.
