If you’re after a laid-back place and can take it easy, this should suit you. Guiradhoo may not be for you if you can’t chill. We stayed eight days and I could happily have stayed longer, even though people warned us we’d get bored or need excursions to fill the time. It’s good value for a budget or backpacker stay. The guesthouse was clean, though there were lots of ants that seemed harmless and hard to avoid. The caretaker was helpful, walked us to places during the first day or two, and helped with laundry and other things we needed. Breakfast was simple but enough: the same toast, sausages, and eggs you see everywhere in the Maldives, plus Maldivian tuna breakfast a couple of times. I could eat that every day. Instant coffee and tea were available anytime. :)

Kute, the manager, knows the island and the Maldives inside out. He can tell you when the sun will rise or set and where to spot baby sharks or manta rays. He’s really cool. The room rate was reasonable and included breakfast, which was huge and delicious, with coffee, fresh fruit shake, and a daily dish. Bialanh, the boy working there, does everything from cooking to looking after the rooms, especially when the manager is away. He made amazing food and changed up breakfast every morning, so it wasn’t the same “free” meal you get everywhere else. He’s super friendly, caring, and always eager to help.

The four days we spent here were memorable, with a calm, cool atmosphere and a beachfront setting. The staff were friendly and supportive, and the trips and other arrangements were handled well. A good place to stay on a local island.

The rooms are a little rusty, but that fits the island and the relaxed vibe. The owner was great, friendly, and helpful, and the team was awesome. We had a perfect stay. Enjoy, everybody! ;)

We’re happy to be here. Ibu & Bilal are friendly and helpful, and we really appreciated their hospitality. The rooms are nice, and the food is very good, especially the fish straight from the ocean. There are lots of local activities to choose from. :-D
