Capital O Hacienda Yunku Hotel, Yucatan

Dating back to the 1700s, this hacienda has pools for relaxing and a cenote. You can stay in one of the rooms and really disconnect.

The roads to the hacienda are perfectly normal and easy to drive, even though it’s a little off the beaten path. Once the day visitors had gone, we practically had the place to ourselves. The owner even opened the Cenote just for us the next morning, which felt magical. This was the best place we stayed during our trip to Mexico, and I’d book again without hesitation for a few relaxing days. The staff were absolutely wonderful and spoke good English. I almost didn’t write this review because I wanted to keep this hidden gem to myself, but that wouldn’t be fair.

After long drives and tours of ruins and towns, this was a wonderful place to recharge. The hacienda is beautifully manicured, has its own cave cenote, and the staff are friendly. The food is typical Yucateco and very good.

The rooms are clean and spacious, and the staff are friendly. There are two beautiful pools, an amazing cenote, and large gardens with animals, all for a very low price given what’s offered. When the place is full it can get quite noisy, but it’s charming when it’s quieter. With a few small improvements, such as a restaurant menu, more cocktails, and new chairs and tables, this could easily become one of the area’s must-do spots.
