Hotel Costa Azul

The breakfast was so good we couldn't finish it, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby too. It's easy to walk to the main avenue or the beach, and the bus is cheap. We felt very welcome thanks to the amazing staff. The pool was clean, with a bar serving drinks and snacks. Our room was comfortable and we got clean towels every day.

What made the stay nice was the staff. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating, from the check-in team to the pool bartender, who greeted me with a refreshing drink when I arrived. The breakfast was usually good, though the scrambled eggs on our last day were horrible. Internet was good too, but they wouldn't let you download anything. I have mixed feelings about the rooms. They look like the photos, and parking is near or beside your room, but the beds are very soft and the thick pillows sit under noisy, non-breathable protective covers. Sleeping was hot. We had no hot water for two days, then it came back when the hotel filled up over the weekend. The rooms also felt damp and humid. I understood why after seeing how they cleaned. The maids moved all our things onto a table or into the closet, then threw a bucket of water across the room and brushed and mopped it away. When we got back, water sat in the corners, along the walls and between the tiles. They moved everything, even toothbrushes and hairbrushes, without checking where they put it. My toothbrush ended up beside my shoes. Please don't handle my things like that. Lifting them to clean underneath is fine, but don't move them around. I also saw doors left open while staff walked away to fetch things or talk, with guests' belongings unattended. The sheets and towels were gray, old and torn. Prices posted at reception changed a lot, sometimes 1,000 pesos less, while weekends were insanely expensive, around 2450 a night for a simple room. So, a nice place in some ways, with a good breakfast when you're lucky, but those details really bothered me.

For me, this is THE place to stay in Acapulco. We had a king bed room, and the pool was kept up every day and stayed quiet. The staff were plentiful, helpful, and friendly. If you like dining out, there are loads of great restaurants within an easy, safe walk.

The grounds were lovely and very well kept, with a beautiful pool and both outdoor and indoor restaurants. The price was very reasonable. The rooms were clean, tidy, comfortable, and had AC and a TV. I was pleasantly surprised and highly recommend this hotel.
