Hotel Elcano

The pool is warm and right by the bar, which has a big menu with lots to choose from. The food is tasty and varied too. The hotel is close to the beach, and the service was nice, polite, and helpful. The rooms are spacious and pleasant, with an ocean view from each one. I definitely recommend it.

The rooms are spacious, face the ocean, and the hotel has its own beach. But you have to spend time outside the room to enjoy your stay. The rooms are very old and not maintained, with a musty, moldy smell. The shower is old too, and water gets stuck in the bathtub when you try to shower. The restaurant food was low quality and not fresh, so I don’t recommend the place. At night it gets crowded and noisy enough to make sleeping difficult. The back of the room faces one of Acapulco’s busiest streets, which is hectic.

The service was amazing overall, and the employees were great except for one person at checkout. The front desk man was very rude because I didn’t have the pool towel card. I told him the person who gave me the towel hadn’t returned the card, but he said that could never happen because they don’t keep the cards. He wanted me to pay 300 pesos for an old, ugly towel and told me to go get it from the room. I refused because nobody had told me I needed to return it at checkout. The rooms are rundown, with old furniture, and don’t look clean. The bathroom was dirty. I was moved from the seventh floor to the first, which had been redone, but the beds were like hard rocks and painful to sleep on. I’ll never stay there again. A clean room and comfortable bed matter most to me. The rooms aren’t nice unless you’re on the first floor, and even there the beds are horrible. If you like hard beds, that might be okay, but I won’t be back.

The staff made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived, and the food was a highlight, especially the buffet's wide seafood selection. My family and I also loved the pool and the fun activities. The hotel's architecture caught our eye, and being so close to the sea made the views incredible. We had a wonderful visit and hope to come back someday.
