Hotel Boutique Sol y Luna Spa

Jorge and his team made staying at Hotel Sol y Luna feel like being with good friends. They were wonderfully hospitable, and the property is beautiful. It’s in an ideal spot near Casa Lule and other good places to eat. I had a wonderful experience.

Our family of 25 went for Sunday brunch. There was an excellent range of food and options, and the staff were great. Thank you.

The hotel is about 1.5 miles west of central Ajijic, and under normal circumstances I’d expect it to rate a bit higher. During a May stay this year, I booked directly with the property for November 2025. My plans changed, so I asked for a refund. I’d paid the property itself, not a booking company, and the receptionist assured me a refund or reschedule wouldn’t be a problem. First I heard that “our internet is down,” then that they’d check with the manager, the father. Since then, they’ve stopped responding altogether. This was very unprofessional after I’d arranged costly stays for my 90-year-old mother, my wife, and me. Be careful with this property. Cuidado!

Jorge, the manager, is a gem, and the whole team is warm and friendly. I enjoyed getting to know them during my stay. This adorable, charming boutique hotel is so quiet, with lovely rooms that have everything you need. The food is delicious and the saltwater pool is amazing. I’d love to come back.
